Georgia State held the visiting Jaguars to 284 total yards in a 24-10 victory, improved to 4-6 and will be eligible for a bowl with a win in each of its final two games.

That's an amazing thing to think about for a team that went 0-12 and 1-11 in its first two seasons in Division 1 and was 1-4 a little over a month ago.

Two big things for GSU in this one. First, they converted 13-of-20 on third down, and I was honestly surprised when I read that statistic because I thought they were even better. It seemed like every time a first was needed on third down, especially in the second half, quarterback Nick Arbuckle (27-for-44, 311 yards) found a receiver, and almost every time that receiver was Donovan Harden.

Harden had seven catches, and I'm pretty sure each grab was enormous.

Second thing: South Alabama took a 10-0 lead 65 seconds into the second quarter, but never scored another point. It was one of the best defensive performances in the short history of Georgia State football.
